Can the elderly benefit from strength training?

Elderly people will develop osteoporosis. Weight training can help prevent this by increasing the muscle and bone mass. However, elderly people should first consult their doctor about this matter in order to prevent weight training accidents and enroll in weight training programs designed for elderly people.
