What and when should I eat before a workout?
Answered By Matthew Boherty
Working out will let your body look for an energy source, in aerobic exercises, such as swimming or jogging, the body uses carbohydrates. In anaerobic exercises, such as weightlifting or push-ups and sit-ups, the body uses carbohydrates in form of glycogen. This is why before you workout, you need to eat food high in carbohydrates, such as rice, whole-grain pasta, bread, and fruits and vegetables. It is important that you should only eat small, easily digested meal 30 to 40 minutes before starting your workout. You should also drink a lot of water or at least 20 ounces 1 or 2 hours before you start working out.
