My 13 year old is 6′1″ and 237# and getting ready to play football his first year and we would like to prepare him as much as possible. He has weight training in the school he attends to firm him up a little,but, he wants to get more involved with weight lifting. We are open for suggestions.

I like to go to the gym alone. I am trying to develop my upper body. I am an extreme novice and know nothing about weight lifting. I would like to do an exercise that develops the chest. But I don’t like to work out with anyone else because the weight lifters scare me. I don’t need someone pushing me to do something that will hurt myself. And I don’t want to be humiliated because I have trouble lifting the bar without the weights.

I just recently bought a weight set. It has the ability to do bench and inclined bench press, butterflyes, a leg lifter thing, dumbells where I can add as much weight as I want, and a thing where you can put your arms to use a curling bar (I also bought a curling bar). I also bought an excercise ball to help me do sit-ups and push-ups. Anyone know any or know of a website that can help me get started on a weight lifting and workout routine? Greatly appreciated.

I’m a mid-twenties woman and just getting back into excersizing cause I am really fat. I need to lose about 30 lbs and tone all over, but I don’t know how to do it. I want to try weight lifting, but I have never done it before, and I have a lot of questions:
Is it better to do many reps with low weights or a few reps with heavy weights?
I usually jog a couple miles 3 or 4 times a week. Should I do this before or after lifting?
Do I need to warm up or stretch before I start lifting?
How many times a week should I go to the gym?
I am completely lost. Any advice will help!
